[Freetel-codec2] FreeDV 1.2-devel windows testing packages

David and I have attempted to test the packages as best we can on old
equipment or in a virtual machine with inconsistent results.

I need a few brave souls to test the packages and report back any problems.

Highlights:
- FreeDV 1.2 / Codec2 0.6 test release
- Updated hamlib to 3.1
- Updated wxWidgets to 3.1.0

This time I also have 32bit AND 64bit packages available since I was able
to fix my build problem with hamlib/libusb. In my test of the 64bit version
in Windows 7 under VirtualBox the main screen would never appear so I could
use an independent verification of that issue.

Choose accordingly:

Thanks,
Richard

Hi Richard

Downloaded the  32 bit version to a windows 7 machine. Listened to the
local WIA broadcast on 7.177 MHz .(See the AREG http://www.areg.org.au/
for details)

Unfortunately propagation conditions were not good and only copied
approx 15 mins of the 45 min broadcast. After the broadcast I had
contact with 2 VK3 hams approx 500km and 800km respectively.

No problems encountered with software.

Hi Richard,

I downloaded and installed the 64bit package on the Win7 64bit PC in my
office and observe the same thing as you.

freedv.exe starts briefly and then stops, no indication on screen.

Hi,

both versions - 32 bit on a win7 notebook and 64 bit on a win10 professional machine – are running here without any issues. Fine work Richard!

Thanks,

Helmut, DC6NY
