Hi all, I am an engineering student and working on a digital voice project. I am impressed by codec2 and sm1000, the freedv adapter.  My questions are:
1) why EEPROM is used in lattest sm1000? Thanks in advance for your precious help.

 Regards,

We added the eeprom for persistent storage of configuration information,
however it turns out we can use the internal flash for the same
function, so the eeprom isn't really needed and isn't loaded in production.

Hi david
but 35 cents on a EEPROM I recommend compared to using internal
flash......... unless it is just somethign like IP address that rarely
changes
